FAQs
What kinds of requests do you assist with?
Whether your agency could occasionally use an extra set of hands when it comes to updating marketing materials, locating suppliers, estimating costs of doing business in the state, providing workforce insights, or tracking down answers to more nuanced RFIs, no request is too big or small.
How can I contact Old North State RFI Assistance?
You can submit a request for assistance by filling out the form located under my “Contact” webpage or email me at tricia@oldnorthstaterfiassistance.com. From there, depending on your preferences, we can either set up a time to meet virtually to discuss your needs or iron out the details over email.
What is your rate?
Because no two RFIs are the same, I invoice by the hour. My hourly rate is $40 (subject to change). Unless otherwise noted, you can expect to receive an invoice for hours worked when I submit the completed materials back to you via email, providing ample opportunity to ensure that you are 100% satisfied prior to rendering payment.
I’m happy to assist on an ad hoc, one-off basis or on a more regular basis depending on your specific needs. If assistance is requested on a more consistent, on-going basis, you may instead receive an invoice once a month or as otherwise agreed upon.
What is your turnaround time?
Turnaround time varies from request to request. My familiarity with NC data sources lends itself to my ability to efficiently obtain the information you need in a timely manner, and I always make every effort to accommodate your timeline!
When should our organization request your assistance as opposed to reaching out to EDPNC?
My goal in providing research assistance to local EDOs is not to replace EDPNC’s extensive free research services and capabilities but rather to supplement them. Here are a few examples to demonstrate instances in which Old North State RFI Assistance may be better suited for your needs:
- Your org is down a member, or you’re looking into hiring research help on a part-time basis.
- You’ve received a request for information from a company that is not tied to an active project.
- You’ve received a request for information from a company, but your community is not competing with other states or communities to retain or attract said company.
- You’ve received a request for information from a company whose primary industry is retail, wholesale, distribution, or a similar “low-impact” sector which would not otherwise be eligible for state-level incentives.
- You would like to refresh your marketing materials but aren’t sure where to start or don’t have the bandwidth.
- You would like assistance with gathering data to better position your community for attracting talent and business or to reduce time and resources spent drafting future RFI responses by having nicely packaged, up to date, “off the shelf” information at the ready.
